PHOENIX — Six people have been arrested in another immigration raid by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Arpaio’s team went to the Monte Carlo Cleaners near University and Stapley in Mesa Wednesday morning.

“We had information that, out of 18 employees, 11 were here illegally with false Social Security numbers,” said Arpaio. “We went in there and arrested six out of the seven employees who were present for false identification.”

Deputies have made nearly 200 people since launching “Operation Desert Sky” two weeks ago, Arpaio said.

“The majority are here illegally involved in human smuggling and drug violations, so we’re going to keep that operation going,” he said.

Arpaio said detectives will keep looking for five other suspects believed to be working at the cleaners illegally.
